Soccer fills most of the list. Five of our eight are soccer games, from the anime-inspired Blue Lock: Rivals to the car soccer of Turbo Soccer.
Meanwhile, an old favorite has moved on. Football Fusion 2, which peaked at 49,999 concurrent players in October 2023, hasn't been updated since February 2026, and its developer launched Football Fusion 3 the next month.
For this list, a sports game means a game built around a real sport and played against other people. Driving games that Roblox files under Simulation, as vehicle simulators, are left to other lists.

At the moment we checked, though, Illegal Soccer had the most players online of the eight, at 52,754.

How We Ranked These
This is an editorial ranking built on public information, and here's exactly where the numbers come from. Player counts, approval ratings and session lengths are from Rolimons, captured in the afternoon of October 15, 2026, and they change by the hour.
To find the candidates, we started from Roblox's own Sports & Racing genre, taking the games filed there with about 1,500 or more players online when we pulled the full game list that afternoon. We added five more, Boxing Beta!, Car Zone, Drift 36 and Midnight Chasers, which Roblox files under other genres, and Football Fusion 2, whose Roblox genre we couldn't retrieve, for 31 in all.
First, every game had to clear the same four bars:
- Built around a real sport. Soccer, volleyball, basketball, American football and other real sports, played against other people. Driving games that Roblox files under Simulation, such as Midnight Chasers and Car Zone, are left out.
- A live crowd. A 30-day peak of at least 5,000 concurrent players. The smallest crowd among our eight is that of Turbo Soccer, at 23,114.
- Players who like it. At least 70 percent of player votes positive, as Rolimons reports them from each game's Roblox page. The median approval across the 31 sports games we checked was 86.8 percent.
- A developer still shipping. Every game had to be updated within four weeks, and all eight were updated in the five days before our snapshot.
Of the 31, 22 clear all four bars, and none of the 22 failed our hold test, which sets aside a game whose 7-day peak is under a quarter of its 30-day peak. Our eight are the biggest of those 22 by 30-day peak.
From there, the order weighs three things: the crowd a game is holding this week, how much players like it and how long it has held a crowd. We judge all three from public numbers, and we read each game's own Roblox page for what it offers.
That's why the list doesn't simply follow the player counts. Basketball: Zero sits fourth although No. 5 and No. 6 drew bigger crowds this week, because its approval of 98.3 percent is the highest of the 31.
The Adellion score beside each game is our editorial judgment out of 10. It's a summary of the case made in the write-up, and it isn't a measurement.

The Best Roblox Sports Games To Play In October 2026
Each entry below opens with who made the game and the numbers behind its place, and it says why the game sits where it does.
1. Volleyball Legends — 9.3
Volleyball Legends is fast-paced 6v6 volleyball. Its page invites you to play a pickup game with friends or challenge anyone in a ranked match.
It has the biggest crowd of the 31 sports games we checked. Its 30-day peak of 151,504 concurrent players is just ahead of that of No. 2, and its 7-day peak of 126,747 came five days before our snapshot.
It also runs on a schedule. Its page promises new updates every Saturday morning at 11:30 Eastern time, and its record of 435,775 concurrent players came on December 20, 2025.
What's more, the control list is short. One button bumps and spikes, another sets and blocks, and the page lists both the PC keys and the console buttons.
Play it if you want the biggest sports crowd we found and ranked matches to climb.
2. Blue Lock: Rivals — 9.1
Blue Lock: Rivals is 5v5 soccer inspired by the anime Blue Lock. Its page describes choosing a character class with abilities drawn from the show, then teaming up with friends or facing rivals.
Its page calls it a fan-made, unofficial tribute. It also says the game is permitted under Roblox's License Manager, with no official endorsement from Kodansha, the manga's publisher.
Its record is the biggest of the 31: 1,097,082 concurrent players on March 29, 2025. This week's peak of 100,436 is under a tenth of that, yet it's the second-biggest crowd of the eight.
In addition, its approval of 96.6 percent ranks third of the eight.
Play it if you watch Blue Lock, or you want soccer with special abilities.
3. Illegal Soccer — 8.9
Illegal Soccer's page sums it up as “the world's most popular sport, finally with guns, grappling hooks, jetpacks, & more.” Its list of pros says you can kick, tackle, beat up and blow up your opponents, and there are no referees.
Momentum is on its side. It launched on May 12, 2026, set its all-time record of 81,522 concurrent players two weeks before our snapshot and had 52,754 players online when we checked, the most of the eight at that moment.
It lists the drawbacks, too: you can slip on other players' oil spills or get shot while you dribble.
However, its approval of 86.5 percent is the second-lowest of the eight. Keep in mind that Roblox labels it Mild for repeated mild violence, which makes it the only one of the eight not labeled Minimal.
Play it if you want soccer with no rules and plenty of chaos.
4. Basketball: Zero — 8.7
Basketball: Zero is fast-paced 5v5 basketball. You choose a character class with unique abilities and, in the words of its page, dominate the court with your aura.
Players like it the most of the 31 sports games we checked, at 98.3 percent approval, and that is what lifts it to fourth.
It has a big record, too: 255,466 concurrent players on June 20, 2025. Its 7-day peak of 31,782 is about an eighth of that.
The controls its page lists are simple: a hold to shoot, a tap to pump fake and the space bar for a layup or a dunk. The game was updated less than an hour before our snapshot.
Play it if you want quick 5v5 basketball with abilities on top.
5. NFL Universe Football — 8.5
NFL Universe Football brings the league to Roblox. Its page lets you play for any of the 32 NFL teams, in all 32 NFL stadiums, and its latest update lists the 2026 kickoff, updated uniforms and Nike's arrival in the game.
It's the oldest game on this list, live since September 2018, and its page says it was formerly known as Ultimate Football.
This is its best week of the month: its 30-day peak of 37,931 came three days before our snapshot. Its all-time record of 54,780 dates from November 10, 2025.
It edges No. 6, Realistic Street Soccer, on approval and track record, since the two drew near-identical crowds this week. Its sessions are also the longest of the eight, at about 17 minutes.
Play it if you follow the NFL and want your team on the field.
6. Realistic Street Soccer — 8.3
Realistic Street Soccer's page promises fast soccer on a futsal-sized field, with realistic characters and animations and balanced AI goalkeepers.
Its 7-day peak of 38,217 is the fourth-biggest of the eight, and its record of 53,920 came on July 24, 2026, almost three years after its August 2023 launch. That's a steady crowd for a game of its age.
Approval is what holds it back: its 84.5 percent is the lowest of the eight, which is why it sits sixth.
Its page also makes private servers free, with a full admin panel for owners, and says the game is built to be simple on mobile.
Play it if you want realistic small-sided soccer and a free private server for your group.
7. Azure Latch — 8.1
Azure Latch is the second Blue Lock soccer game on this list. Its page, too, says it's permitted under Roblox's License Manager, with no official endorsement from Kodansha.
Players rate it second of the eight, at 96.8 percent, and its average session of about 17 minutes is second only to NFL Universe Football's.
Note that its first summer was bigger: its record of 127,748 came on June 8, 2025, and its 7-day peak of 20,139 is under a sixth of that.

It's the newest game on this list. It launched on September 19, 2026, calls itself a beta and set its all-time record of 23,114 concurrent players three days before our snapshot.
Be aware that its sessions are the shortest of the eight, at about five minutes on average, and it hasn't yet shown that it can hold a crowd through a quiet month.

- SKI, August 2026. A hard, fast skiing game in which you race friends, find the fastest lines and land tricks. It clears our bars, with a 30-day peak of 19,996, though its approval of 80.5 percent is among the lowest of those that do.

Who Missed The Cut
A few big names are missing from the list. Each was weighed, and the notable omissions include:
- FIFA Super Soccer. A 4v4 soccer game in a packed stadium, with a record of 83,255 concurrent players from July 5, 2026. It clears our bars, but its 30-day peak of 20,512 is smaller than those of all eight picks, and its approval of 81.4 percent is lower than any of theirs.
- Racket Rivals. A 3v3 game that mixes badminton, tennis, squash and volleyball, with abilities and champions, and 94.9 percent approval. Its 30-day peak of 12,774 is a little over half of Turbo Soccer's.
- Midnight Chasers and Car Zone. Two of the best-liked driving games we checked, at 97.5 and 96.7 percent approval, but Roblox files both under Simulation, as vehicle simulators, so they miss our first bar.
- Football Fusion 2 and Football Fusion 3. Football Fusion 2 drew 49,999 concurrent players on October 16, 2023, but it was last updated in February 2026, so it misses our update bar. Its developer's Football Fusion 3, launched in March 2026, clears our bars, but its 30-day peak of 12,954 falls well short of Turbo Soccer's 23,114.
- Basketball Legends. A basketball game with a record of 32,231 from July 4, 2026. It clears our bars, but its 30-day peak of 10,218 is under half of any of our eight's.
